Nikki found her ideal home in Warrington

Shared Ownership, Shared Experience: How Nikki Found Her Home for Life

Nikki had been renting a home for over four years when she decided that enough was enough.

Tired of feeling insecure in her tenancy and longing for a lifelong home, Nikki was ready to become a homeowner again, but faced the challenge of saving for a deposit large enough to secure a home that met all her needs.

In the face of uncertainty, Nikki found a Shared Ownership home with Torus that had everything she needed: a private layout, a large garden, and a guest bedroom for her children, who had since moved out of her original property.

Although Nikki was initially unsure about Shared Ownership, the team was able to put her at ease, and she is now happily settled in her new home.

She told us,

I was worried at first when committing to a Shared Ownership home, as I didn’t know anyone else who had purchased one. But I needed to get out of my rented accommodation and live somewhere that felt like a secure home for life. Now that I’ve been living in my home for over a year, I can say this has been the best decision I could have made!

When comparing her current Shared Ownership home to her rented accommodation, she said,

Shared Ownership allows me to feel secure in my home and has worked out as a cheaper alternative to the monthly rent I was paying previously. I plan to staircase and own 100% of my home, but I’m in no rush, as I already know this home is my home for life.

We are delighted that Nikki could find a home for life with Torus!
