Shared Ownership 2.0

Today marks the return of the National Housing Federation’s Shared Ownership campaign, following a hiatus instigated by the nationwide lockdown in response to COVID-19.

From March 2020, the housing market was paused and the buying and selling of properties restricted in a bid to contain and reduce the transmission of the virus, which resulted in the campaign pausing.

However, in line with a return to a ‘new normal’ following the easing of lockdown restrictions, the National Housing Federation have relaunched the campaign to continue increasing awareness of Shared Ownership amongst homebuyers across the country.

As a committed provider of affordable housing options in the North West, Torus is delighted to once again continue its support of this campaign.

As a Group, Torus is passionate about bolstering access to truly affordable housing options across the North West and as such, always ensures a percentage of all its homes are available through schemes such as Shared Ownership.

Speaking about the relaunch of the campaign, Jeanette Grady, Group Head of Sales, commented:

“As a Group, it is incredibly important for us to be part of campaign’s such as this as it is imperative that people know and understand all options available to them.

“Shared Ownership is a brilliant way for people to get onto the property ladder and despite popular opinion, is available to people, at any stage of life. As a team, we love hearing people’s positive experiences of Shared Ownership – it’s great to hear people talk about the options and the flexibility it has given them – along with allowing them to access homes they never thought they could’ve.

“We will continue being a passionate advocate for this campaign and will work tirelessly to increase awareness of the benefits of Shared Ownership and just how much it can positively support and progress our customers journey to homeownership. We truly believe that scheme’s such as this have a crucial part to play in fixing the housing crisis – regionally as well as nationally – and will continue our commitment to promote and build affordable homes for the people who live in the North West.”
